The skipper had wanted us on the boat for 8am to make the most of the tides so a slightly earlier start for the guys today. After a short stop for Mackerel we steamed out an hour or so to the pinnacles mark.

We’ve had some good days on the pinnacles and we started fast with Gareth landing a 5lb Pollock and a few small ling to 3 or 4lb landed. Paddy trainor then took a good Pollock of 8lb but that was it over the few hours we fished. As the tides got stronger we left and moved to another mark.

We fished some deep water off Rathin Island and managed to pick up a few more decent sized Pollock before moving onto a wreck that the skipper said had a lot of Spurdogs lately.

As soon as we started John Mckillen hit into the 1st of the day with a 13lb fish soon followed by Paddy Trainor with a similar sized fish. Martin Buchanan then pulled in a 15lb 8oz Spurdog and another of 15lb 4oz soon after. We seemed to hit on every drop with Glen Murphy getting a 14lb fish and on the last drop John with a 15lb 5oz fish took 2nd place only for Paddy to land a cracking 16lb2oz Spurdog to take the pool.
